Registration Agreement with Northern Kentucky University
Before registering for classes at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), you must read and accept this agreement. Upon acceptance, you are acknowledging that you understand and agree to the following terms and conditions:I acknowledge that I am entering into a legally binding contract with NKU to pay all tuition, room, board, fees and other charges. I also understand that I shall be responsible for all collection costs and attorney fees that NKU may incur to collect any unpaid balance on my student account. I acknowledge that any money owed to NKU under a payment plan constitutes an educational loan that cannot be discharged in bankruptcy under 11 U.S.C.523(a)(8).
To avoid extra charges and interest, NKU encourages all students to pay their charges in full by the due date. For students unable to pay the full amount, NKU offers the Northern Installment Plan.
Due Date: For the initial due date for each semester reference the Academic Calendar and the Registration Guide for the second and third due dates.
I understand and agree that if I pay 1/3 of my charges on my student account by the due date, I will be charged an enrollment fee of $50 to place my account in the Northern Installment Plan and my account will begin to accrue interest at the rate of 1.25% per month.
I understand that if two thirds of my fall charges are not paid by the second due date, my classes may be canceled. If my classes are canceled I may not attend classes or participate in clinicals, field experience, internships, practicums, co-ops, labs or any other off site educational experience and I will be responsible for 50% of tuition.
If I am unable to attend NKU for any reason, I must officially withdraw through Norse Express or by sending a signed letter to the Registrar’s Office. To avoid a financial obligation to NKU and or a grade liability, I understand that the withdrawal must be processed by the end of the 100% adjustment (refund) period for each term or session. The adjustment (refund) period dates can be found in the Academic Calendar. Any financial aid that may have been received must be repaid immediately upon withdrawal.
My student account must have a balance of less than $100 before I can register for a future enrollment period. NKU reserves the right to cancel my registration for an enrollment period if my account has a balance of $100 or more from a previous enrollment period. To assist in keeping my account paid I permit NKU to use any Title IV funds received to pay off any balance on my account of less than $200.
